SUMMARY: This multifunctional position will be responsible for managing critical material functions in support of safe, timely and efficient MRO operations for internal and external customers. The successful candidate will report to the Stores and Tooling department but will also functionally support the Procurement and Material Planning department. NOTE: This is a 2nd shift position. The successful candidate will support the after hour material operations for the procurement and warehousing teams. This position will be the responsible contact to lead the coordination and/or execution of material actions necessary to support production, procurement, warehousing, tooling, back shops, quality or any other task as assigned by the manager of stores. As a lead, this candidate has the capability to assign or execute tasks designated by the manager of stores and/or the procurement manager, including, but not limited to parts movement and inventory transactions, packing and shipping, updating status/turnover reports and some procurement transactions. This candidate must possess excellent communication skills to drive the appropriate communications to internal and external entities and ensuring compliance to the VT-SAA quality standards. Although Stores is the primary responsibility, this position may be tasked to support other initiatives as directed by VTSAA leadership. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Ensure safe, responsive and accountable stores and procurement actions are executed that contribute to on time delivery of the aircraft, reducing turn times, minimizing non value added cost and delivering the highest quality product and services. 2. Ensure that all areas of responsibility are compliant with the FAA and VT San Antonio s Quality Assurance program. 3. Ensure customer materials requirements meet the delivery requirement by leading the team to execute the proper material transactions and if necessary, execute the material transactions. 4. If necessary, the candidate is expected to be able to act as an additional material controller to support the receiving, packing and shipping of materials/tooling or any other activity dictated to support the operations 5. Confirm and review material turnover reports for accuracy with the capability of accepting the responsibility for imputing information for the turnover 6. Work with production/quality to resolve quality discrepancies for items in quarantine 7. Execute material transactions in a timely and accurate manner and be the accountable party for addressing and implementing corrective actions. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Working level experience in MRO, Airline or Aviation Manufacturing preferred. Must be able to aggressively support a 24/7 highly variable production environment. Similar industry experience in a regulated, high pace materials management may be considered. An above average understanding of FAA material requirements, inventory, production, shipping/receiving, warehousing, parts quarantine, cycle counting, kitting and aerospace material handling is preferred.
