RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this role, you will have project management responsibilities that include applications engineering, contractor and subcontractor management, programming, installation, system commissioning, checkout and troubleshooting.

  • Confirms customer requirements, which includes drawings, specifications, job site requirements, bill of material alignment with specifications and clarifies exceptions

  • Manages complete project process from order preparation, thru manufacturing release, product shipment, post shipment support and financial reconciliation utilizing a base knowledge of Carrier products and their use

  • Takes ownership for validating the project’s statement of work and contract terms with the customer, including both technical and commercial elements, becomes the lead contact to the customer for entirety of the project

  • Develops a project delivery schedule and validates with the customer to ensure expectations are being met. Direct engagement with internal manufacturing facilities and third party vendors/subcontractors

  • Leads the execution of the project through kick-off meetings, tracking of required resources, activity sequencing and communicating to all parties including the exchange of technical requirements and project plan information. Executes Operational Change Orders immediately with customer acknowledgement prior to implementation

  • Monitors and controls the performance of the customer’s project through its lifecycle. Key activities include task completion verification, project team monitoring, managing the exchange of project updates across the project team members, schedule reporting, issue resolution, and contract administration

  • Leads the closeout of the project to include financial reconciliation, verification of job site equipment arrival, installation, start-up, and training support completion through review of internal system information, contact with the customer, and coordination with support services such as field services, after-shipment support, and training functions

  • Provides viable, value engineered options and design solutions to meet the customer needs through Value Added Change Orders

  • Solves problems with customer interaction that results in positive feedback and improved relationship

  • Employs knowledge of Carrier products and demonstrates an understanding of fundamental systems knowledge, processes and terminology needed for effective project management

  • Manages a diversified and compliant supply base of contractors and other business associates

  • Utilizes strong working knowledge of computer operating systems, specifically MS Office, MS Excel and MS Project Manager

Qualification:

  • Commercial HVAC experience preferred

  • Ability to lead and motivate teams

  • Strong problem solving, planning, project management and time management skills

  • Ability to read and understand scope of work

  • Strong knowledge of Safety practices and OSHA standards

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project financial reporting

  • Prior experience in Construction, HVAC and/or Building Automation; projects of up to $5 Million preferred

  • Understanding of job costing principles

  • Experience using project management tools including but not limited to Gantt charts, MS Project, and similar

Education:

  • College degree preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline with 4–7+ years relevant technical experience

  • Master's degree in a related technical discipline with 2–5+ years relevant technical experience
