Troubleshoots, repairs and services aircraft and engine systems.

Conducts diagnosis of malfunctions. Performs maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly, or adjustment and certify/test of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations. May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications. Maintains FAA required records, manuals and inspection forms.

Setup and perform a variety of semi-complicated tests on pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems and parts, and cooperate with Test Engineers in order to arrive at required engineering data. Fabricate small test jigs and incorporate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies. Connect electrical circuits to operate solenoid valves, electric pumps, pressure pick-ups, thermocouples, etc. Incorporate hydraulic and pneumatic measuring instruments such as orifices, flowmeters, pressure gauges, etc. Assist to secure information on hydraulic components during investigation of aircraft malfunctions, and to disassemble and investigate hydraulic components malfunctioning during evaluation tests. Operate equipment essential to the tests. Repair and calibrate laboratory equipment. Know correct operating procedure for a majority of equipment used in hydraulic and pneumatic laboratories. Perform other duties as assigned. Keep own work area clean and orderly. Refer any problems to higher classification Assembly/Test personnel or Supervisor.

Required: High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of related experience. Post high school coursework or professional certification preferred.

Highly preferred: Welding (Mig, Tig, Stick, Heliarc) with certifications. Mechanically inclined (building structure test rigs).
