Raytheon Producibility Engineer in McKinney, Texas
Job Description: The Mechanical Producibility Engineer is a significant contributor to the design and development of products across the business. The engineer is responsible for driving producibility and efficiency into fabricated hardware designs and provides technical oversight and support for a wide range of suppliers. The engineer should be familiar with the fabrication factory environment, build optimization, and design documentation methods. The engineer is responsible for the following: Technical interface between engineering/factory/supported programs and hardware suppliers Oversight of producibility concerns for fabricated hardware Support Make/Buy/Where planning Engineering design support to ensure producible designs Evaluation of engineering designs to drive cost-efficient components Support for on-time delivery of castings and machined hardware U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date. Required Skills: Minimum of 8 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in STEM, or 12 years of experience with an Associates Degree or non STEM Bachelor's Degree Hands on experience in a Manufacturing environment Experience with design, fabrication, inspection, and documentation of castings and metal fabricated components Effective communication skills, including verbal and written Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) Ability to utilize computer aided design (CAD) software to evaluate engineering designs US Citizenship Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance Desired Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) Working ability with the CREO CAD modeling tool Strong application knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) with emphasis on Datum schemes, fastener interchangeability, functional gaging, inspection, and tolerance analysis Currently possess a DoD Security Clearance Prior experience in the Defense or Aerospace Industry Required Education: Minimum of 8 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in STEM, or 12 years of experience with an Associates Degree or non STEM Bachelor's Degree This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons Minimum of 4 years of professional experience with a Bachelors Degree, 8 years of experience with an Associates Degree, or 12 years of experience with HS Diploma 113437
