Raytheon Capability Leader – 3D & Interactive Development in McKinney, Texas

Raytheon, a global aerospace and defense company, is looking for an experienced creative professional to lead our 3D and Interactive Development services team. Raytheon’s Global Business Services-Advanced Media (GBS-AM) team is the company’s in-house resource for creative and print services. Leveraging a broad range of capabilities—including graphic design, digital media, videography, photography, event production, and proposal support—the organization’s creative professionals responded to more than 12,400 customer requests in 2017. With the aim to drive global growth, competitive advantage and enterprise collaboration, we support customers in all of Raytheon’s businesses and functions, with particular focus on capture managers, program managers, and communicators, as well as the company’s senior leaders. Our deliverables have high visibility among the company’s 64,000 employees and in the external marketplace. GBS-AM has engaged in an initiative to enhance our own collaboration, innovation and efficiency. The initiative included the restructuring of the organization, resulting in the standing up of a team in 2017 to centrally deliver 3d and Interactive services to internal stakeholders. For several years the talent delivering these services has been dispersed across several GBS-AM teams. The 3D Interactive services manager will oversee the work of this team. Applicants must provide a portfolio of creative samples representing recent work. Portfolio should demonstrate technical expertise, creative flair, conceptual ability, storytelling, versatility and imagination. Job Description: Reporting to GBS-AM’s Enterprise Multimedia leader for creative services, this position will be a critical change agent for GBS-AM. At an operational level, the position will oversee the day-to-day work of 5-10 creative professionals; at a more strategic level, the position will be responsible for working with key account representatives and Advanced Media’s Leadership Team to develop and implement a capability roadmap that informs our investments in technology and talent development. The position will also work with its discipline peers to drive greater consistency in service-delivery processes for 3D visualization, Interactive development across GBS-AM companywide. The position will interact with customers on higher-visibility, complex projects, and it will serve as an escalation point for resolving customer issues. The position will be a “working-leader,” with the expectation that the incumbent will personally engage in some customer projects in response to selected requests. The position requires a strategic thinker who is strong at developing customer relationships, articulating the value proposition of our services, and advocating effectively for organizational change. Primary Responsibilities Provide leadership, strategic direction and guidance to a team of 5-10 creative professionals, with a focus on talent development and maintaining knowledge of current industry best practices in 3D, 2D and interactive best practices Foster relationships with customers to understand their emerging creative needs and to assess our performance on existing projects Provide creative strategic consultation to internal customers on 3D visualization, interactive development and emerging innovative technologies Oversee and drive the creative production process to ensure 3D, 2D and interactive projects are produced with evolving technologies and to highest visual standards. Lead as a change agent, particularly to drive success of the new organizational model and further adoption of GBS-AM’s customer engagement model, ensuring accountability and ultimately achieving integration and optimization Review and approve estimates on customer projects Identify and recommend external suppliers to address capability or capacity gaps required to respond to customer requests Drive companywide alignment of service-delivery processes, templates and tools through partnership with the West region’s capability leader Foster and grow the teams knowledge of advanced technology, interactive capabilities and other new innovative technologies Serve as the creative lead on selected projects Participate in after-action reviews for top-tier customer projects Establish an approach for forecasting demand for 3D, 2D and Interactive development, talent and staff the team accordingly Lead or engage in special projects or initiatives as needed Required Skills Minimum 10 years of experience for grade G11 Demonstrated ability to effectively combine graphics, audio, and video elements into a coherent whole that engages users. Proven leadership skills, including managing a team and a network of contract and freelance producers, and developers. Strong technical knowledge and skills in modeling, simulation and rendering as it pertains to video production, application development and interactive development for web based and mobile device applications and distribution. Proven experience in various aspects of visual effects production in a deadline-intensive environments. Demonstrated ability to develop 2D motion, 3D concepts and provide creative direction that combines strategy, messaging, and content into effective and brand equitable digital media assets Proven experience in UI/UX design and the application of industry best practices Excellent project management skills Experience in implementing change initiatives and process improvements. Good analytical skills and ability to work with complex data and information. Consistent record of delivering results. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and plan contingencies. Strong written and verbal communication, including strong presentation skills. Proficiency with MS Office Suite programs, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe Creative Suite, HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript, AJAX, 3DMax, Maya and other interactive and web-based technologies Strong storytelling skills Ability to travel on some assignments . Desired Skills Proven experience successfully driving change across the enterprise. Demonstrated command of Raytheon’s corporate identity guidelines.
