Position Summary

This position will support the Engineering group with electromechanical projects and/or individual components of larger more complex projects within Product Development Department of a global Engineering company spanning various business units. Products will predominantly be for use in the Subsea Oil & Gas industry but within a research and development environment that covers all of Oceaneering’s businesses.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the Engineering group with electromechanical projects and/or individual components of larger more complex projects within Product Development Department of a global Engineering company spanning various business units. Products will predominantly be for use in the Subsea Oil & Gas industry but within a research and development environment that covers all of Oceaneering’s businesses.
  • Write and review technical proposals and specifications.
  • Perform product reliability and qualification testing.
  • Develop new products and/or improve existing products based on market needs.
  • Perform engineering of new development products through milestone reviews/gates including concept, preliminary design, final design and pre-production release.
  • Perform design calculations using FEA (finite element analysis) or classical methods as required for product engineering and development.
  • Create presentations for progress reviews with Oceaneering management and potential customers.
  • Interpret engineering specifications and machine drawings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 3 years of related design and manufacturing industry experience. Must have 2 years of experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electro-hydraulic surface and subsea controls, project management or project engineering, FEA and material specifications experience. Must have 2 years of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, FEA software, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, RISA 3D, ANSYS, and MathCAD. Must have 2 years of experience with standard industry specifications such as ISO 13628-1 to 8, API RP2A, ASME B31.3, DNV 2.7-1, etc
