Job Description: Airgas USA LLC is seeking an Industrial Risk Representative to work in Houston, Texas to: • Work on industrial risk analysis for the business, using the business approved/recommended methodologies. • Work on Process Hazards Analysis (PHAs) for the Process Safety Management (PSM) covered sites. • Work with industrial risk management process for the Airgas Merchant Gas (AMG) business. • Work on regulatory compliance for the company regarding Federal, State and Local regulations and initiatives. • Work on technical audits, identify risks, recommend to operational teams the actions necessary to lessen risks and ensure the implementation of those actions. • Analyze, adapt and implement within Airgas' Merchant Gases Industrial the Risk Management documents issued by the AirgasIMS, following the guidance of the Director, IMS, SAFECOR. • Participate in know-how transfer among risk management representatives between business units. • Work on Risk Management Activity with the Health Safety and Environment (HSE) department activity. • Act as the IMS representative for Airgas' Merchant Gases in case of a crisis and participate in the investigation of the causes and the approval of the recommendations for change. • Work with tools, methods and indicators to support and measure compliance with policies and progress against objectives of the risk management system. • Maintain records and develop indicators to demonstrate conformity to the Airgas' risk management specifications. • Share learnings from significant events with similar operations to consider evaluation and action for AMG equipment. • Share best practices. • Participate in safety reviews for new projects and verify that the Risk Management activities have been implemented. • Classify new projects into critical and standard according to Airgas Industrial Management System criteria. • Participate in the Management of Change (MOC) review process by reviewing relevant MOCs. • Participate in key Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) as required. • Work on preliminary risk assessment reviews during the project approval phase. • Keep records of all activities related to risk management for critical according to the Airgas IMS criteria. • Ensure communication with IMS regarding all critical investments. • Help business teams to demonstrate know-how in the fields of safety and reliability.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION: Master's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering plus 2 years related operational and engineering environment experience in the industrial gas industry working on process risk analysis assessments with standard process safety tools and PHA techniques, such as HAZOP, qualitative and quantitative risk analysis.
ALTERNATE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION: Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering plus 5 years progressive related operational and engineering environment experience in the industrial gas industry working on process risk analysis assessments with standard process safety tools and PHA techniques, such as HAZOP, qualitative and quantitative risk analysis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Up to 50% domestic travel required, and up to 5% international travel required. This position does not require roving, relocation or telecommuting.
