Lockheed Martin Supplier Quality Engineer Lead / Aerospace in Grand Prairie, Texas

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) for a position working on the PAC-3 program to be based in Grand Prairie, TX.

The position will require working flexible hours and travel out of the assigned geographical area to support suppliers across the United States and possibly some international suppliers. The position is also responsible for managing/coordinating supplied part issue resolutions. Duties include:

Performance at suppliers of scheduled product source inspections, first articles, and product line validations as outlined by AS9102 and applicable company and industry standards

Provide internal and supplier support for root cause and corrective/preventive actions tied to Supplier Corrective Action Requests

Support Supplier requests tied to program requirements, interface with customer needs and program management activities

Participate (as required) in supplier's failure/diagnosis and Material Review Board (MRB) activities

Perform on-going surveillance of supplier's conformance to Lockheed Martin requirement documents and provide written weekly reports

Provide technical liaison support related to quality engineering matters

Ensure supplier contract flow-down requirements are implemented and verified and interfaces with supplier on a daily basis

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.

Basic Qualifications Technical Engineering Degree or equivalent work experience with a bachelors degree.

Must have ability to obtain a security clearance

An understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Able to identify and document supplier's quality deficiencies and ensure effective corrective action

Capable of performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems Understanding of engineering requirements

Understanding engineering drawings requirements mechanical and electrical inspection methods

Strong understanding of AS9100 and AS9102 standards.

Ability to focus on continual improvement practices using causal analysis tools to drive corrective and preventive actions

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment

Must be able to multi-task

Strong communication skills (both oral and written)

Must be able to effectively communicate and interface with Suppliers, Quality Program Management, Engineering, Supplier Quality Management, Sub-contracts (Buyers) and Government Representatives

Desired skills A strong understanding of the MFC SAP and Procure to Pay (P2P) business systems

Experience with working with suppliers in a dynamic environment

Experience with performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements

Experience with source inspection and surveillance activities at suppliers

Very proficient at Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Experience with improvement of supplier performance through metrics

Ability to think outside of the box to solve problems

Willingness to teach others to improve the team
