Performs general accounting and other related duties involving the financial accounting function, including general ledger maintenance, creation of journal entries and financial statement preparation and analysis.
Oversee general ledger, chart of accounts, and the posting of financial accounting journal entries as part of the monthly close process. (30%)
Control and oversee all journal entry activity during monthly close process, including subsystems interface with general ledger.
Perform proper recording and periodic amortization of prepaid expenses.
Ensure proper accounting for payroll-related and benefits accounts, including general ledger interface with ADP payroll system, as well as appropriate accounting for other compensation plans
Perform foreign currency transaction conversion to reporting currency of U.S. dollars.
Maintain general ledger master data, including establishing of GL accounts.
Prepare monthly financial statements and financial reporting packages. (20%)
Prepare monthly financial statement package in company format for monthly review with senior finance management.
Support preparation of Airbus Group reporting package (FACTS+) submitted monthly to Helicopters Division HQ.
Ensure financial statements and reporting are in accordance with required basis of accounting, such as IFRS and/or U.S. GAAP.
Provide annual audit support and act a key interface with external auditors in the area of financial accounting.
Perform reconciliations of various general ledger accounts. (40%)
Review daily bank activity and prepare monthly reconciliations of bank statements.
Reconcile key general ledger accounts such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.
Perform monthly reconciliation and reporting of intercompany payables with affiliate companies via the company's ICart tool.
Administer and maintain fixed assets database and depreciation records. (10%)
Record all fixed asset additions and retirements in the financial system.
Perform monthly depreciation of fixed assets.
Reconcile fixed assets detail to general ledger, including Construction in Process account.
Provide support to Tax personnel for their annual calculation of tax depreciation.
- Other duties as assigned, including acting as backup to Manager-Accounts Payable.
Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
Required: Bachelor's Degree (BS/BBA) in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience.
Required: Minimum of six years within an accounting/finance functions.
Preferred: CPA or CPA candidate; CMA
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:
Required: Working knowledge of financial accounting principles, practices, and procedures. Must have strong analytical and mathematical ability dealing with large volumes of detail information.
Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):
Requires the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form with internal and external customers at all levels of personnel. Able to read and interpret various types of technical documentation and data.
Technical Systems Proficiency:
Ability to use computers, and associated software, specifically Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc. Familiarity with SAP is preferred.

Position works with minimal direct supervision, making appropriate decisions on a daily basis affecting recording of company financial position and expenses.

Responsible for preparation of company financial statements, totaling more than $600 million in assets and $700-800 million in annual revenues.

Lifting: able to lift documents, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs daily.
Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools several times a week.
Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer daily.
Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving several times a month.
Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices several times a month.
Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice once or twice a year.
Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office daily.
