Position Summary:

This is a full-time contract position which may have the potential to become a full-time direct-hire employee with AHI in the future.

The Business Development Marketing Analyst DoD and Government Agencies is a member of the Airbus Helicopters Inc. (AHI) Military BD team and is responsible for working closely with Airbus Marketing and Communications, AGI Strategy and Development, and AGI Government Relations (GR) in supporting the AGI Business Lines (consisting of Airbus Americas (AA), Airbus Defense and Space Inc. (ADSI) and Airbus Helicopters Inc.) Primary responsibility will be to perform Military and DoD market analysis that contributes to the business growth of the AHI Military Line of Business by identifying military market trends, opportunities and pursuits for military business. Produce and present solutions to influence the company's growth initiatives. Drive customized marketing initiatives within the region through an understanding of the customers/key stakeholders' needs, wants and decision triggers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Assess the market for military and government customers: 40%
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Airbus military and commercial products.

  • Identify and interpret marketing strategies from military and government agency opportunities.

  • Interact with other company departments and business units to identify approach & strategy for opportunities.

  • Use company tools and data sets to perform parametric and non-parametric analysis and predictive assessments.

  1. Assess competitors: 30%
  • Regional POC on all competitive analysis in the region, including but not limited to key campaigns activities, pricing policy and demo tours
  1. Represent Business Development Team on campaigns. 30%
  • Develop price to win strategies and analysis.

  • Participate in Strategy meetings and Gate reviews.

  • Develop business case and white-paper documents.

  • Produce market analysis presentations and handouts.

Additional Responsibilities:

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:


  • Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, business/marketing, or related field or equivalent in experience and education.

  • Preferred: Master's degree / MBA


  • Required: 3-5 years of experience or relevant experience in marketing analysis

  • Strong verbal and writing skills as well as experience in public speaking/presenting

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Microsoft office Suite, with specific expertise in Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Travel Required:

  • 20-30% Domestic and International


  • Authorized to Work in the US

Decision Making, Complexity:

  • The Business Development Marketing Analyst DoD and Government Agencies is responsible for providing timely support to the business development team. They will be expected to work independently using company data and analysis tools. This position will interact regularly with the other departments as opportunities develop.

Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success:

  • Frequently perform analysis with minimal data. Present findings and recommendations to management. Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Work with consultants and subcontracted analytics providers to develop results/analysis relevant to key campaigns.

Nature of Contacts:

  • Involved communication on a regular basis with internal and external parties

  • Externally: Focus on the demand pattern and budgetary cycle of the customers requires close relationships with internal and external stakeholders to obtain and analyze data.

Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite: 70-80%

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.

  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms

  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications

  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts

  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 25lbs

  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 25lbs

  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.

  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.

  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.

  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor

  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.

  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces
