OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:

Under general supervision the EDL Technician I is responsible for various tasks within the Proto environment. The tasks may include machining, painting, fabrication of sheet metal details and assembly operations utilizing moderately complex blueprints. Interprets sketches, query reports and function with verbal instructions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Work from complete moderately complex blueprints and other written and verbal instructions.

  2. Responsible for layout and building of moderately complex first article assemblies with or without the aid of tooling.

  3. Programming and setting up machines to close tolerances may be required.

  4. Preparing to paint and painting various materials to match customer Trim and Finish definition may be required.

  5. Maintain a high quality of workmanship and assumes responsibility for work performed in assigned duties.

  6. Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge and skills:

Must have the ability to self-motivate and perform at a high level of intensity under general supervision. A working knowledge of MRP systems, scheduling, and blueprints is preferred. Must be able to use PRO-E system and CATIA. Experience with NC programming is preferred.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Two years of experience working in manufacturing or related environment required. Experience working in an experimental / prototype environment, or manufacturing setting dealing with modifications to designs, components, or assemblies is preferred. Combination of related education, certifications, licenses and experience may be considered in lieu of minimum required working experience.
