Simulation Software Engineer
The Simulation Software Engineer is responsible for designing and developing simulation environments for test and evaluation of manned and unmanned aircraft, as required to meet program and customer defined requirements. The Simulation Software Engineer will work closely with the Integrated Product Team lead (IPT) and be an integral part of the overall IPT structure, working closely with customer and subcontractors.
Real-Time software development of simulation models
Provide status updates for major program milestones
Develop data interfaces for Avionics, Ethernet and Serial protocols
Perform analysis of complex systems integration issues
Develop system requirements working closely with IPT
Perform Configuration Management for developed software
Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is required. Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degrees may be considered with applicable experience.
Masters Degree is preferred.
Experience in developing rotorcraft simulation environments, including hardware, software, and integration of aircraft LRUs is required.
Requires C or C experience in a Linux/Unix development environment (Eclipse IDE experience a plus)
Requires source control of developed software using Git and Subversion.
Experience developing Matlab/Simulink based models and integrating with legacy software is desired.
Experience with legacy programing languages is desired (FORTRAN, ADA programming experience is a plus)
Full software lifecycle development will be required from requirements analysis through to product acceptance.
Must have the ability to work effectively within a team.
Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
Must have the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively to coordinate activities, prioritize tasks, and report status.
Must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, as well as horizontal integrations across the other teams.
Familiarity with aerospace design and verification processes to include; requirements develop and verification, preliminary and detailed design, MRP, Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement and Maintenance processes is preferred.
