Manager, Aerodynamics, Propulsion, Utilities and Subsystems

Responsible for staffing assignments of aerodynamics, propulsion, power, thermal, and mass properties disciplines. This includes aerodynamic design and analysis, propulsion system design and integration, power systems design and integration, thermal systems design and analysis, and mass properties analysis for ADP programs. Define staffing needs, select and assign personnel to meet program needs. Responsible for all aspects of ADP program staffing (re-assignments and placements, recruitment and selection of new employees and terminations) and personnel management (training, mentoring, career development, performance and compensation, and promotions).

Support the development of technology plans and roadmaps in support of Skunk Works programs. Identify, pursue and manage internal and customer sponsored research and development programs. Make research and development contacts with DoD labs and other government agencies. Interface with LM Aero, other LM business units and external customers and suppliers to develop new technologies and transition them to LM Aero programs. Prepare and deliver presentations to LM senior management and external customers. May require travel to customer facilities and other LM sites.

Approximately one third of this assignment will be to support Skunk Works programs as an individual contributor. This tasking will include direct support to programs, proposal preparation and review and program reviews.

Good people skills as well as good oral and written communication skill are a must. A strong background in air vehicle development is required. Experience as a manager with performance management and schedule /budget responsibility desired. Experience in conceptual development desired. Proposal development experience highly desired. Significant experience in both the full scale aircraft development and IRAD/CRAD environments preferred.

Bachelor of Science, or higher, in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. The ability to obtain a Top Secret and program special access clearances required.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
