The Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) is an engineering organization that focuses on product producibility and mission assurance. It is a vital link in the integrated product development process that allows Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) to introduce reliable new products faster, better, and more economically. The candidate will fill a mid-level position responsible for the creation of CAD models and drawings that are simple and complex in nature. The candidate will work under the guidance of a senior designer, lead ME or EE, or other senior staff members, to develop and document solutions to program requirements. The position will require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation, and the ability to work in a team environment to develop components or sections of microwave systems and other RF packages. The candidate will perform a wide variety of tasks in support of the engineering and manufacturing organizations by using Computer Assisted Design (CAD) systems and enterprise data management tools to prepare and release mechanical design layouts, detail and assembly drawings, and related documentation in conformance to appropriate program and/or military specifications. Other duties will be assigned not specifically stated herein. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date. Required Skills: Minimum of 6 years’ experience with an Associate’s Degree, or 4 years’ experience with a Bachelor’s Degree Very strong Pro/E (CREO) skills including large drawing manipulation, Sheet metal, and Advanced Assembly techniques Functional understanding of PDM/Link (Windchill) Electronic component packaging experience Demonstrated ability to perform within a CAD design activity Fundamental knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances, ASME Y14.5 Good communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision Able to multi-task and work in a team based environment Ability to establish effective relationships with other Raytheon personnel Familiar with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project Experience creating engineering documentation needed to support design, manufacturing and production Exposure to fabrication processes, capabilities, and limitations Ability to obtain a DoD Top-Secret clearance Ability to access to US only data systems U.S. Citizenship is required Desired Skills: Fundamental Configuration Management Principals Radar product design MIL-DTL-31000, ASME Y14.24, AND ASME Y14.100 Knowledgeable of Raytheon Engineering documentation Standards (EDS) Experience with the Raytheon Design Standards and Mechanical Engineering Process for documentation preparation Working knowledge of metal fabrication tools and processes Prior experience in Defense or Aerospace Existing Secret Clearance Required Education: Associates Degree in Mechanical Drafting with 6 years of experience Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with years of experience This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons. 110761
