CACI International Systems / Mechanical Engineer in Dallas, Texas
CACI International is providing engineering support to the Air Force 309th Electronics Maintenance Group’s automated testing system under the Automated Test System Sustainment Initiative (ATSSI). Under the ATSSI program, CACI provides services that include integrating, upgrading, and consolidating computer-based analytical software tools, database repositories, test fixtures, test program sets, and associated network communications for the Air Force's fleet of aircraft at San Antonio, TX.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Design, procurement, manufacture and documentation of mechanical test systems and fixtures, cable assemblies, and packaging of electronic components.
Supporting drafting personnel in producing engineering data packages for Government customers as well as support development of technical documentation for test solutions.
Assisting development of schedules and ensuring design projects are completed on time and on budget.
Providing guidance to less experienced engineers and design personnel.
What Possess These Qualifications:
BS / MS in Mechanical, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering.
Candidates should possess 8 or more years of relevant experience.
Experience in sheet metal design, fixture design, enclosure design and system packaging.
A background in development of test systems, electro-mechanical design, mechanical systems or avionics systems.
A solid understanding of electrical and electronic circuits, such as wiring harnesses and cabling.
Experience in evaluation of obsolete components for reverse engineering replacement or repair.
Proficiency with 3D solid design using SOLIDWORKS or similar design tools.
Good communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to work within a team environment.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with military specifications and standards for military support equipment such as MIL-PRF 28800 and MIL-STD-810.
Experience with MIL-Spec connectors (MIL-C-38999 and MIL-C-5015) and MIL-Spec wiring (MIL-C-27500 and MIL-W-22759).
Exposure to common test equipment architectures (PXI; VXI; LXI; PC104).
Knowledge and practice of ISO 9001, AS9100 or CMMI quality process standards.
Thermal Analysis of components.
Specific knowledge in the application of IUID to DoD assets.
Significant prior experience in successfully designing and fielding cable and hardness assemblies for use in adverse environments.
