Manager, Finance & Special Projects


Summary: Partners with division and Sector leadership to lead the day to day financial operations of the business. Executes highly complex, accurate and complete financial analysis. Develops, interprets and implements effective financial reporting, forecasting, and budget processes. This position will provide financial and integration support for newly acquired entities, but will also serve as a key resource for the Advanced Programs & Business Development Sector finance team for other special projects. This position will require travel (approximately 25%) and candidates should be comfortable working remotely at times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements accounting and finance policies and procedures.

  • Prepares/reviews short-term forecasting (STF), including P&L and balance sheet analysis.

  • Prepares/reviews various monthly internal and external financial reporting.

  • Creates and maintains complex financial models to be used by management in business planning.

  • Communicates monthly financial performance to key stakeholders.

  • Tracks, interprets and presents monthly cost for IR&D and B&P projects.

  • Provides Estimate at Complete (EAC’s) and Earned Value for Programs and IR&D projects.

  • Maintains considerable involvement in the understanding, development, and execution of the annual financial plan.

  • Recommends and helps implement process improvements with regard to financial analysis and financial reporting.

  • Provides ROI analysis on projects and capital purchases.

  • Calculates and analyzes monthly overhead and G&A costs and rates. Leads the preparation of annual incurred cost submissions.

  • Conducts ad hoc analysis as required by management.

Technical Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.

  • Experience – 7 years of related experience, withexperience leading and developing teams.

  • Previous experience in a Finance Management role within an Aerospace and Defense organization.

  • Highly experienced with Microsoft Excel.

  • Working knowledge of data collection, statistical and financial data analysis, and evaluation.

  • Program Finance and/or Cost Accounting experience is required.

  • Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) experience highly desired

  • Knowledge of Government accounting and design and application of rates is highly desired.

  • Prior experience with Deltek CostPoint ERP system is required.

  • Experience with M&A and the integration of acquired entities is preferred.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
