Huntington Ingalls Industries (Camber Corporation) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.

HII-Camber is currently seeking a Senior Hitachi Storage Engineer to work out of their San Antonio, TX location supporting the Administrative Office of the US Courts. Although San Antonio is the preferred work location, candidates in the Washington D.C. area or full time teleworkers will be considered. The hired candidate, if remote, will need to spend at least three weeks onsite in San Antonio. The costs for this travel is not reimbursable.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier 3 support via a ticketing system including storage provisioning, troubleshooting and assisting server and database administrators

  • Analyze performance reports and resolve incidents

  • Work with field engineers on configuring new Hitachi arrays, microcode upgrades and disk failures

  • Monitor Hitachi storage arrays and Brocade switches

  • Upgrade Brocade switch firmware

  • Create new NFS shares as requested by hosting teams and assist with any issues

  • Provide on-call support on rotation basis

  • Other storage projects as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications and Experience:

Required-

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight (8) years’ of IT experience

  • Additional years of experience can substitute the education requirement

  • Background should include:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Hitachi Command Suite/Storage Navigator

  • Supporting multiple Hitachi array platforms

  • Experience with Tuning Manager, Analytics, and virtualization in an enterprise Hitachi storage environment

  • Troubleshooting performances issues from Brocade and Hitachi resources

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Brocade hardware and software

  • Virtualization support (desired: VMware)

  • Problem solver with troubleshooting, decision making and analytical skills

  • Able to work and interact with others in a structured / team environment

  • Flexibility and adaptability to handle competing work demands

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate to nontechnical audiences on technical issues

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate on a technical level to technical audiences

  • Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call

  • Ability to do limited travel (0-4 times a year)

Preferred-

  • Hitachi HNAS experience

  • Red Hat Linux system administration

  • Project management skills
