Play a leading role in the preparation, visualization, and management of data and analytics capabilities that support basin and play insights for the Basin Insights Service, and more broadly the Plays & Basins Capability within the Energy Insight Upstream business. Abilities, skills and tasks include (but are not limited) to basin and play evaluation and analytics, strong quantitative skills, understanding of conventional and unconventional plays, activities and challenges, the ability to integrate and generate useful visualization of blended technical and commercial data to support workflows in the international E&P arena.
Contribute to overall Upstream Plays & Basins analysis of the global E&P industry including market trends, the competitive environment and the strategy, basin and play competitiveness, competitive landscaping and leading indicators for same.
Work closely with other members of the Upstream Plays & Basins team to manage and grow the practice and deliver strong financial results as well as integrate with other dimensions across the Upstream business group.
Support ad hoc custom analytic requests and potential client facing opportunities.

Knowledge and Skills
Graduate Degree in Geology, or Petroleum Engineering, Finance, or Economics, or equivalent required.
At least 5 years working experience in the oil and gas industry or related financial services industries.
Knowledge of E&P asset modeling and understanding of basins, plays, fields and wells.
Able to work in teams across offices and with members in other practices in a cooperative and efficient manner.
Self-starter and demonstrated leadership skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues and clients.
Required skill(s): Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Spotfire
Able to work in a multicultural setting
Analytical, quantitative, and able to see the big picture and draw forward-looking conclusions by synthesizing and digesting large sets of data
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are critical to this position
Required language(s): English.
Minimum of 2 years of experience within commercial analytics within E&P industry.
Background in Machine Learning and Financial/Economic Analysis, preferably in an Upstream environment.
Experience with SQL, SAS, VBA, Python, Java Script, Tableau, and/or Spotfire.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
Initiative to generate and communicate project ideas to management.
Ability to complete objectives and goals with minimal supervision.
Develop and give oral presentations to both large and small groups.
Understanding of business drivers, trends and client needs
Education and Certifications
• University degree (Bachelors or equivalent) in Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Geoscience or related field.
• Graduate degree highly desirable.
