Project Engineer 4
The Mission Integration Division (MID) of L3 Technologies (L3T) Aerospace Systems Business Segment delivers integrated solutions for the global ISR market and provides modernization, upgrade, sustainment, and maintenance and logistics support for a wide variety of aircraft and ground systems. L3T MID is seeking experienced Project Engineers to lead new Multi-Mission Aircraft Programs for new international customers based on L3T’s latest ISR Business Jet Product Line.
Project Engineers lead all technical aspects of the program from the initial program pursuit through delivery including proposal, requirements, high level architecture, detailed design, build, test, integration, flight test, documentation, training, delivery and support phases. Project Engineers work hand in hand with Program Managers and Directors that have financial, delivery and program direction authority for the programs.
Required experience includes
Engineering Degree (graduate degrees are a plus),
Ground Mission System and Trainer System development in support of Large Aircraft-platform-based ISR system. Require experience for all program phases,
ISR sensor and aircraft communications experience (MULTIMISSION GROUND & AIRCRAFT, COMINT, ELINT, SIGINT, COMMUNICATIONS, DATA LINKS, EO/IR SYSTEMS, RADAR SYSTEMS),
Leadership experience (especially Project Engineering and/or Chief Engineer)
Project Engineers must understand and effectively lead / utilize a diverse team of technical subject matter experts and engineering disciplines as well as contracts, subcontracts, program management, USAF procurement offices and international customers. Project Engineers must have a strong set of core competencies including Problem Solving, Team Leadership, Strategic Thinking / Planning, Communication, IPT / Cross Functional Behavior, Accountability, Critical Thinking, and the highest level of Ethical Conduct. All planning and program execution activities must be in accordance with L3T AS9100 certified program-life-cycle processes. Effective Risk and Opportunity Management is essential.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate engineering discipline and a minimum of seven (7) years years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced technical or management degrees are desired.
Experience with the one or more of the following areas is required:
Aero Design – (Electrical; Mechanical)
Experience with most of the following is essential:
Leadership - Task or IPT Leader and/or Functional Management
Entire Program/Engineering Life Cycle Phases and Activities
Ground Mission System and Trainer Development
Architecting airborne mission system configurations to meet customer needs
ISR Domain Experience: MULTIMISSION GROUND & AIRCRAFT, COMINT, ELINT, SIGINT, COMMUNICATIONS, DATA LINKS, EO/IR SYSTEMS, RADAR SYSTEMS
Subcontract technical requirements management
Subcontract technical oversight
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI, which requires US Citizenship.
