Description

The Project Engineer (PE) is assigned the technical responsibility and authority for the program under the direction of the Program Manager (PM). This includes but is not limited to:

  • Planning and execution of program activities,

  • Documenting, an approval of program plans,

  • Ensuring life cycle process adherence,

  • Risk identification and management,

  • Overall program coordination during the program lifecycle.

  • Coordination of bid activities including:

  • Labor hour reviews

  • Material bid reviews

  • GFE coordination reviews

  • Internal/Customer Grass- roots and Technical Evaluation

  • Obsolete/EOL part tracking and resolution

To this end the individual Engineering Functional Task Leaders (Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Specialty Engineering, Logistic Engineering, Technical Publications, etc.) take general direction from the PE for the assigned program operations. The PE is also responsible for program technical performance that extends beyond the "Engineering" functions, to ensuring technical compliance within the total operations activities (i.e. extends to the interfaces of manufacturing and HD&L). In addition, Project Engineers are the key technical interfaces to Customers and have the responsibility/opportunity to interact with Customers at every phase of our program lifecycles. PEs can be assigned to Programs of Record and/or Program proposal/pursuit activities. Additionally the PE is responsible for developing SOWs in cooperation with the Customer based on equipment needs and timeframes needed.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelors degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of nine (9) year applicable experience. Advanced technical or management degrees are a plus.

Experience with one or more of the following areas is required:

  • Aero Design (Electrical, Mechanical, Structural)

  • Hardware Development

  • Software Development

  • Systems Engineering

  • Leadership - Task or IPT Leader and/or Functional Management

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • Program/Engineering Life Cycle Phases and Activities

  • Requirements Management

  • Production/Manufacturing Lifecycle

  • Supply Chain Operations

  • ISR products and Platforms

  • Proposal Development

  • Tools:

  • SAP

  • EEST

  • Big Safari Inventory (BSI)

  • SOW/G5000 Tool (EUI)

  • Knowledge of Production Estimating System (PES) & Material Estimating System (MES)

  • TeamCenter

  • Pricing

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
