Job description


Manage a group of Project Engineers, Design Engineers, and Drafters with a mix of

technical backgrounds and provide overall leadership to deliver on-time tasks and

develop/train resources.


A) Resource planning, manpower scheduling to support all projects.

B) Develop and train resources with the skills necessary to adequately support all

projects and departmental/company goals.

C) Responsible for on-time submittal of data and drawings for all assigned projects.

D) Work closely with the Product Manager in resource (workload/capacity) and change


E) Project budgets at or below cost.

F) Report project status and implement recovery plans as required.



Knowledge and skills:

i) Technical capabilities should include problem solving, root cause analysis,

mechanical design, configuration management, design reviews, and certification


ii) Excellent communication skills.

iii) Project Management skills must accommodate leading complex projects from

concept to commercialization, budgeting, staffing, scheduling, reporting, with

accountability for driving on-time business results.

iv) Must be able to communicate effectively at senior management levels internally

within the company and externally with customers and airframers.

Education and/or Experience:

i) Must have a B.S. degree

ii) 5 years minimum experience in engineering.

iii) 5 years experience in design engineering preferred.

iv) 1-2 years minimum managerial or supervisory experience.

v) Experience in resolving Root Cause and Corrective Action is required for improving

design integrity and standard work practices.

vi) LEAN Engineering or 6 sigma training

C) Communication Skills:

Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office

equipment. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing

abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.

D) Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve problems and think strategically.
