A Day in the Life of aMilitary Programs Engineer Intern:

Bell Helicopter isseeking engineers to join a dynamic team that is leading the future of verticallift. We are seeking engineers that strive daily for innovation and settle fornothing less than excellence. The MilitaryPrograms Engineer Intern will be assigned to projects related to thefollowing aircraft:

  • V-280 Program (FVL –Future Vertical Lift)

  • V-247 Program (FVL –Future Vertical Lift)

  • V-22 Osprey Program

  • H-1 Program

  • Fire Scout Program

Interns will support engineering personnel inone or a variety of the following areas depending on business need:

Design Team: Interns will work with engineers to support new structural,aeronautical or hydraulic aircraft designs, conduct aircraft structuralanalysis and evaluate flight technologies such as CFD and aircraft handlingqualities.

Testing & Labs: Interns may support the testing of new and full scaleaircraft materials.

Production Support: Interns may support new and future production of Militaryaircraft, review materials used in the manufacturing of the aircraft, and workwith the business to address part and material defects.

Fleet Support: Interns will work with the business to identify aircraft parts andprovide overall support to our military customer requests.

Qualifications

MinimumRequirements for a Military Programs Engineer Intern at Bell:

  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work effectively within a team.

  • Ability to prioritize a variety of assignments.

Education Prerequisites:

  • Must be a current student enrolled in a university and pursuing an Engineering degree at the time of the Summer Intern Program (Mechanical, Software, Electrical, or Aerospace strongly preferred).

  • Must be able to fulfill the full length of the Summer Intern Program (May 29th– August 10th).

  • Will have completed at least 60 credit hours at the time of the Summer Intern Program (May 2018).

  • 3.0 minimum GPA.

Ideal Candidates AlsoHave:

  • Specific rotorcraft educational emphasis, passion for the Bell legacy.

  • Automotive or other mechanical hands-on experience, flying (manned or unmanned), computer programming, robotics.

  • General aircraft knowledge, grasp of basic engineering principles.

  • Member of national societies like AHS, AIAA, etc.

  • Enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Leadership, ability to manage conflict, deal with ambiguity, flexible, adaptable, able to execute.

  • Collaborative, communication, motivation, hard work, determination, humble, strive for excellence, dependable.

  • Knowledge of CATIA or other Computer Aided Design programs, Nastran/Patran, MATLAB, C .

  • MatLab, Fortan, SQL.
