The Government Contracts Specialist V conducts the preparation, negotiation, acceptance, and management of government contracts and subcontracts, reviews and approves all contractual documents for protection of company's contractual posture, satisfaction of government specifications and requirements, and adherence to company policy and advises management of contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of terms and conditions.

  • Considered an expert in the field of government contract law.

  • Negotiates and drafts domestic and international contracts for the sale of products and services, procurement of products and services, distribution and logistics.

  • Oversees the administration of the contracts database.

  • Advises organization of contractual rights, responsibilities and obligations. Participates in the development of contract templates, policies and procedures relating to government contracts.

  • Makes decisions on behalf of the company in the negotiation of contract terms and contract policies and procedures.

  • Review and approve complex government contracts, letters of agreement, and other documents related to a variety of trade, financial, and operational matters to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

  • Performs indepth analysis on government contracts and technical reports.

  • Makes recommendations to senior management on how to respond to legal issues or proposed changes in government contracting laws and regulations.

  • Analyze and resolve issues for specialized contracts or subcontracts.

  • Oversees complex government contract negotiations, administration and compliance and ensures they meet regulatory requirements to protect the organization’s legal and business interests.

  • Maintains contract documentation, submits information required by regulatory agencies or contracting parties, oversees regulatory audits, and coordinates and manages the responses to any regulatory findings relating to government contracts.

  • Leads, directs and mentors other members of the Government Contracts team.

  • Instructs and coaches less experienced contracts professionals to help them resolve problems.

  • May provide feedback to leadership team during the performance management process.

  • Leads special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education Requirement: Bachelors Degree in related field. Masters or Juris Doctorate preferred.

Required: 10 or more years related experience.
