Customer Service Representative

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) position fills a critical role in the customer interface. It is part of a greater team responsible for providing a variety of services, solutions, support and information in a manner that builds trust, confidence, and long-term business. This position provides support in all areas of customer service, inside sales, and technical support utilizing interpersonal and business skills.

The ideal CSR associate takes ownership as the primary internal customer contact point for service and information regarding products, prices, availability, and product uses. The associate ensures customer satisfaction by placing orders, scheduling deliveries and services, responding to inquiries, and taking appropriate action to resolve customer concerns. In addition, the associate is responsible for the following:

  • Project a helpful and confident attitude when dealing with internal and external customers using effective communication techniques

  • Provide timely and helpful responses to all inquiries

  • Provide accurate information regarding products, prices, availability, delivery, invoicing, and returns

  • Process the transactions necessary to support quote and order fulfillment needs and to ensure that customer expectations are being met

  • Assist customers with information to help them select the product solutions that best meet their needs

  • Provide service and support to our outside sales force

  • Report customer complaints, non-conformances, and errors in compliance with the Quality System

  • Recommend and implement process changes in support of continuous improvement

  • Complete all other duties as assigned to support the business

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Sense of urgency and ability to multi-task

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Must have a personality suited for customer service and

  • Must be comfortable with cross-functional training and be able to step into additional roles when needed.

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

  • Must have strong data entry and related computer skills

  • Must be comfortable working multi-line phone system while processing information

  • Strong Mechanical and Mathematical aptitude are preferred. Our products are mechanical in nature and technical training will be provided

Education and Experience:

High School diploma required; Bachelor Degree (B.A. or B.S.) or Associate Degree (business or technical), preferred. Minimum of 5+ years in Customer Service role; Prior technical experience in industrial products or instrumentation preferred.
