Facilities Maintenance Technician


The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting the other facilities technicians with maintenance and up keep of all the facilities.

These duties are to include but not limited to:

  • Conducting routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment

  • Performing repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment

  • Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical

  • Assembling modular furniture, minor construction and repairs to the interior and exterior of the facilities, some data and security cabling knowledge is recommended

  • Basic Commercial HVAC systems work to include: Maintenance and repairs of units

  • Troubleshooting all different types of HVAC equipment and refrigeration equipment

  • Specializing in correcting and/or repairing the mechanical and electrical systems and controls throughout the facilities

  • Configuring energy management control systems within our current facilities

  • Maintenance of air compressors and lawn sprinkler systems around all our buildings

  • Using hand and power tools

  • Testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing machines and equipment

  • Using blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications

  • Installation of voice, date, fiber, access control, CCTV, and alarm panels/devices

  • Position is subject to being on-call and maybe some weekend work



  • High School Diploma or GED, required

  • Minimum 3 years experience in facilities maintenance is required

  • Experience using hand and power tools

  • Experience reading blueprints, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings and specifications

  • Basic knowledge of commercial HVAC systems

  • Security clearance, or the ability to obtain one
